This premium Dragon Kendama is made from Purpleheart hardwood (also known as amendoim or amaranth). It is sold in its natural unfinished state and has a natural purple colour which will change over time as the wood ages. Purpleheart wood is very dense and is one of the hardest woods in the world. Compared to standard beech wood, this solid wooden kendama is much heavier and much more durable. During play it makes the nice distinctive percussive 'clunk' sound typical of all our hardwood kendamas. Premium hardwood Dragon Kendama are standard sized kendama made from exotic hardwoods. Each one is unique, the appearance will vary. Please note hardwood kendama may get hairline cracks as the wood adapts to different environments (heat, humidity etc). This is normal and will not affect play. See our video below!
