Table Tennis Rubber Availability
Posted by Pete on 31st Oct 2021
Customers have asked about hardness options for table tennis rubbers, and if I can get more where they are out of stock.
In short the answer is that most table tennis rubbers are manufactured in a choice of sponge hardness options. If I have physical stock it will visible on the Skilltoyz web site. If I am out of stock then the item will not appear on the web site and new stock will be ordered at some point in the future.
Most Yinhe, Palio and other table tennis manufacturers make bat rubbers in a choice of hardness. Commonly this is soft, medium and hard, often specified as a degree ° of hardness. All are subject to availability - manufacturers do not always have stock of all hardness options, so it may not always be possible to get stock of a particular hardness.
On top of this variable manufacturers availability, the Covid pandemic has hugely reduced demand for table tennis products. While demand has picked up in recent months, it continues to be greatly reduced in the UK. Consequently I am not restocking as frequently, so table tennis rubber availability will be less consistent than in previous years. It is not possible to restock individual items at short notice - they are all imported in bulk from the manufacturers in China.
So for a few table tennis rubbers I may not have all hardness versions in stock. For example, the Yinhe Mercury 2 is made in a hard version but I am out of stock. Similarly for the Yinhe Earth 2 I have sold out of soft sponge hardness.
Skilltoyz will restock when demand picks up. Please note that, like so many other products, the prices of table tennis equipment is likely to increase in future. We will do what we can to keep our prices competitive.
