IQ wooden model sailing ship kit "America". This 1:120 scale self assembly (DIY) 3D model Western traditional sailing ship kit is made from laser cut wood and requires glue for construction. Glue is not supplied. This model is difficult to construct and will need patience and care. Many of the parts are very small, intricate and delicate. Instructions included as a schematic.
Sold unassembled, this model is best suited to experienced modelmaking hobbyists. It is challenging to build, with a recommended minimum age of 14 years. Some parts are very small and fragile.

Notes from Skilltoyz: A suitable glue is required to complete this model. A waterproof PVA wood glue should work well. The wood is pre-cut, but some parts may need to be cut or trimmed to fit and a sharp craft knife would be very useful. If you do use a modelling knife please use with care! You may need to clamp or tape parts into place while the glue sets (masking tape can work well, and elastic bands can help). Some of the wooden parts are very fragile, please be gentle and careful when pushing out the pre cut parts so they do not break. Fine sandpaper (not supplied) can be used to smooth any rough edges if required, but this is not essential. Some wood parts may need to be steamed or soaked in hot water to get the wood pliable for bends. Tweezers may help with smaller parts.
