Table Tennis Sponge Thickness Questions

Hi everyone,
I am sometimes asked "can you get the X table tennis rubber with X sponge thickness?". Or "Why don't you offer a choice of sponge thickness for the Yinhe/Palio/DHS/Friendship/Sanwei Table Tennis Rubbers?". Or simply "What is the sponge thickness for this TT rubber?".
Briefly, the answer is that most Chinese table tennis rubber manufacturers do not offer sponge thickness variations as standard products and do not always state what thickness is supplied.
Most Chinese table tennis rubber manufacturers sell standard (mass produced) TT rubbers with a single fixed thickness sponge. They do not offer retailers a choice of sponge thickness. This keeps their costs low. Often the manufacturer (Palio and Yinhe included) do not even state the sponge thickness. If I am asked what the thickness is, I often have to ask the manufacturer.
But you say, why can some other retailers offer TT Rubber X with a choice of sponge thickness? Well, my understanding is that these are bespoke products, made to order for them. They are not a standard production item. I have asked and yes, I could get (for example) Yinhe to make their rubbers with different sponge thicknesses but (a) the cost would be higher and (b) the minimum order requirement is also prohibitively high. I doubt I would sell the required quantities of a custom order before the rubbers expired past their shelf life.
So at this point in time the table tennis rubbers that we sell are all the standard "vanilla" manufacturers offerings with their standard sponge thickness. If I know the sponge thickness it will be stated in the product description.
If you want to know what a particular TT rubbers sponge thickness is, please do ask, and I will try to find out.
