The Blade
The Palio 3 Star blade is a top quality class 2 composite layered (5 wood and 2 carbon) construction, which increases playability and provides good speed and control of the ball. The profile of the handle fits comfortably in the hand. Like most table tennis rackets sold in the UK, this has a long handle designed for shakehands grip (which is the most commonly used grip). It is worth noting that the blade is of similar quality to the Palio C1 blade, and is superior to the Palio 2 star blade.

The Rubbers
The rubbers used in this Palio 3 star bat are the new AK47 Biotech rubbers. These are ITTF approved, pimples (pips) in, two sides loopon sponge. The AK47 rubbers are great for beginners and intermediate players. For user reviews we refer you to the tabletennisdb web site ratings. AK47 rubbers are very good quality, and sell for over £10.00 each on Amazon! The rubber top sheet is tacky which makes them good for loops and spin. The rubbers are the same on both sides, only the colour is different. This is recommended for most players.

Compared to the Palio 2 Star
The Palio Professional 3 Star bat is the next model up from the popular Palio 2 Star which is presently one of the top-selling bats on Amazon. The AK47 rubbers fitted to the Palio 3 Star racket are a newer and higher-grade product than the CJ8000 rubbers fitted to the Palio 2 Star. The 3 Star model also has a better quality blade than the Palio 2 star

Product Advice
Table tennis bat rubbers have a ‘shelf life’ of about 18 months. Beware of buying bats where the rubber may be so old that it has deteriorated: this can be the case with paddles kept on display in sports stores or when making a second hand purchase. As the rubber deteriorates it loses grip (tackiness) – grip is essential to put spin on the ball, which is crucial to playing modern table tennis. Our Palio 3 Star bats are freshly imported from the manufacturer and you can be confident that the rubbers are brand new.

To help preserve your Palio bat condition we recommend you keep your bat in the bag and store it out of direct sunlight and away from sources of heat.

Do not touch the rubber surface because you will transfer sweat and oil from your fingers.

To help maintain performance, occasionally gently clean with water or use a specialist bat cleaning fluid.

Palio rubbers are glued onto the blade and can peel off at the edges if the bat catches the table, particularly if the bat edge is pushed along the surface of the table. Be careful during play!

Like all table tennis rubbers, the rubber condition will slowly deteriorate over time and will lose tackiness. The more you play the quicker your bat rubber will wear out! Luckily, the rubber can be replaced when required.

Any new bat will take a little getting used to at first. From experience I can tell you that your new bat may take some getting used to, but will be worth persevering with.

Please note damage to your table tennis bat which might reasonably result from normal wear and tear is NOT considered a fault, this includes worn, peeling or torn rubbers, chipped or worn wood.

If you have any questions we will be pleased to help. You can contact us by email.

Palio 3 Star Professional Table Tennis Bat.

Posted by David Foreman on 30th Oct 2018

I organise a table tennis group go around sixty players in the '50+' age bracket and have chosen the Palio 2 Star bat as our preferred bat. Just recently one of the group asked to try out the 3 star upgrade and it was delivered within 24 hours of placing the order from Skilltoyz. We are waiting on the players reaction as he has only just started using it but first impressions are very good.

    Best bat for the money

Excellent first bat, and great price. Amazon was selling the expert 2 for $40 usd, and I was able to buy this for much less. The blade feels light and well made, and the rubber is controlled and good for training. The black side (backhand side I assume) is more tacky, while the red side is grippy.

Good Buy. Palio make some good equipment

Posted by Brian on 12th Sep 2017

I've had a Palio Expert 2 for 10 months - really enjoyed improving with it. I've been playing with this one for a month and I'm highly unlikely to go back to the Expert. This one is definitely heavier, more rigid and faster. I haven't noticed any lack of control. It had an odd high-pitch sound at first, but that's disappeared with bedding in after 3 hours or so. Highly reccomended. I'd like to borrow a Legend to compare it with, but in the mean time I'm very pleased.

I'm definitely playing better with this bat - I'd had my old one a long time but didn't realise there could be such a difference....
