Ozora make a special kendama called the Zodiac Edition to celebrate each New Year. 2016 is the Year of the Monkey, and to celebrate Ozora have created an evolutionary Year of the Monkey Kendama, featuring a special Matte finish non-slip light blue paint with a cool Monkey logo. The non-slip matte paint makes the ball a little more 'sticky' and so helps complete tricks such as the Lunar. Japanese Kendama Association (JKA) competition Approved. The Year of the Monkey is a special Limited Edition Ozora kendama, made to celebrate 2016, the Year of the Monkey and will only be made during 2016.

The Ozora (aka Oozora or Big Sky) Kendama is approved by the Japanese Kendama Association (JKA) for competition use.
